As for the Healing Surge, you can use a Second Wind, which acts like a Healing Surge and a +2 AC buff. You do that once per encounter, but you can use Healing Word twice per encounter, which will grant you a healing surge + 1d6+4. Have you used Second Wind? I have to look...

I'm going to use Eyebite on the boss goblin. The attack is +4 vs. Will, and the damage would be 1d6 +4 psychic damage and I would be invisible to the boss goblin until the start of my next turn. I'm also going to kick in (since goblin #6 is dead) my Warlock's Curse for an additional 1d6 damage.

Question for the DM - I guess ideally we would like to make the boss goblin attack the paladin (our defender) and he will do so since the paladin has the boss goblin marked. Is it true that none of the rest of us would want to "mark" the boss so as not to pull him off his target of the paladin?

To answer your question Sam, yes, anyone else "marking" the goblin would cancel any existing mark. So unless otherwise stated I would assume that no one would overwrite the mark, even though a Fighter marks a target it attacks, regardless of hit or not.
